By the way, Lucas Vazquez, who has gotten the most hate for some reason, was once again our best player tonight. 7 created chances, 5 dribbles, almost created a penalty, great workrate even against a third division team.
Notice how I used hate. Because it's not criticism.

I'm convinced up to this day that people just hate on him because it's cool to. Imagine if Rodrygo had those stats instead of LV, or Vinicius, or any fan-favorite, we'd be seeing posts like "Sorry king, you deserve better ;("
But it's LV, so no one will say a word.

This is quite important to me. Just here to showcase the ridiculous hypocrisy against certain players in our club. But there's an even bigger point that I wanna make.
I genuinely feel like this season, LV has easily been our best winger and even possibly best forward.

It doesn't take much to realize that there's something wrong with our club when Lucas Vazquez, a squad player, is arguably our best forward. Hazard's injuries have ruined his momentum and form, Asensio's injury means he needs more time, Rodrygo/Vinicius are still kids.
So while Zidane could perhaps be criticized for not having a more solid system against low-blocks, it's also fair to note that our forwards are either not ready, or have underperformed so badly, that Lucas Vazquez, a squad player with grit, has been arguably our best forward.
I love Lucas Vazquez a lot. I think he's quite the underrated player and once he goes to EPL, he'll get a lot more stats and get the exposure he deserves as a starter in a somewhat great team.
That said, the fact that's been our best winger says it all about Real right now.
