Alright, I'm going to be honest here for a second, and I'm hoping there are other creators who can emulate this feeling.

It's extremely difficult to make friends as a streamer, because so many of us spend MOST of our energy, time and confidence on our own streams.

(a thread)
There is such a focus on numbers that creates a heavy stigma on joining someone's stream, when the reality is if you want to see the energy and confidence many of us can offer, our streams are the best place to do so.

Not all networking is for numbers. (cont.)
Social media is great, and it allows us a window into the lives of folks within our industry, but it creates so much insecurity and requires so much extra energy to keep up with. Messaging, commenting, scrolling, especially in the time we're in is EXHAUSTING. (cont.)
One of the best ways to get to know a streamer is by seeing their community, and experiencing the space they've fostered. Most of our energy goes into our content, our confidence, our vulnerability, and spending time with us on stream is the best way to get to know us. (cont.)
Anyway, I know the stigma of viewership exists, and numbers are important in content creation but don't forget we're all just people trying to build relationships through a screen.

Visit some streamers today, take time to get to know them and their communities. It's worth it. ❤️
As a small addition to this, it's also important to note that it's HARD to visit other streams as a streamer and social media is much easier because it's done on your own time. Completely understandable, and none of this was meant to infer otherwise. It's HARD and I relate.
