Please everyone understand that both these things are true at once:

1) we came razor thin close to the installation of a Trump dictatorship

2) we are not out of the woods when half the gov’t is still committed to preventing free & fair elections
Restoring & expanding the Voting Rights Act has to happen in this first two years while there’s a Dem majority in both houses b/c we can be certain the GOP will be doing everything in its power to prevent us from having a free & fair election in the midterms.
There’s obviously a multitude of crises we’re facing right now but we can not allow the GOP’s ongoing, racist assault on democracy to get lost in the naive, nostalgic talk of a mythical “unity”. I can’t emphasize that enough.
