Trump capitalized on the poor, the ignorant, and those who have been preyed on by religious dogma.

I think of these people like drowning victims: they can be saved, but they'll kill us, too, if we aren't equipped to rescue them.

And some will choose to drown even as they pray.

All of that said, I want to mention that I don't mean to imply that any individual who doesn't have the spoons owes these people their energy. Especially not marginalized communities.

I think the more privileged among us should be stepping up to that task instead.

Finally, it is imperative to recognize that rehabilitation for fascists is, in most cases, a waste of time. Most fascists appear to really *like* being fascists. I believe roads to redemption should exist, but I think we can expect them to bear very few footprints.
