Hey Champ & Major! Your furry friends at LifeLine Animal Project congratulate you on your new home! As shelter pups, we’re always (trying to be) on our best behavior so we wanted to share a few tips about living in your new place, The White House.
#InaugurationDay #FirstDogs
It’s a pretty special building and a lot of animals have lived there. There is a lot going on, hopefully this will help you both settle in a little faster. So, here’s what you need to know…
You’re going to hear the word “wing” a lot. Sadly this means West Wing, not chicken wing. But if you follow the person who said it, they will probably take you to your dad for a quick belly scratch.
There are a lot of things around the House that may look like toys; don’t chew them! These are old and sort of important so make sure anything you play with is given to you by a friend.
Real talk, you are going to be in snack heaven! Not only will they have your favorites in the kitchen for you whenever you want, there are going to be so many people around that can keep treats at their desks. Just use your best puppy dog eyes.
You may get invited to a place called the Rose Garden. This is not the place to do your business. You’ll get shown where you can do that, but the Rose Garden is not a bathroom!
If you need a nap, there are some couches but the ones in your dad’s oval office aren’t the best ones to nap on. No one wants to explain to a foreign dignitary they have drool or fur on their suit.
But speaking of naps, the best place to sunbathe is the South Portico porch. You’ll be close to mom and dad but will still get some fresh air.
A lot of events happen at The White House, too. One is the Easter Egg Roll which is really fun, but please don’t eat the eggs! Those are for the kiddos.
If you see anyone from the First Family sliding down the banisters, don’t try it yourself - it’s hard to hold on when you don’t have opposable thumbs.
And last of all, if you need a place to hide, both of you will probably fit under your dad’s desk. But, that desk is really special as well, so he may not let you stay there if you don’t behave.
Enjoy your new home Champ and Major! All of the shelter pets here at LifeLine wish you the best with your new adventure and can’t wait to see pictures of you in the new place.
