I have a decision to make about a few projects that I’m considering working on this year. I have a few different opportunities to work on some things that I feel can help move Black male political conversations forward but I have to make sure we do these the right way
It’s important that Black men of different political viewpoints have an opportunity to share our views while working towards the shared goal of helping create a stronger foundation for Black men in America.
I’m seeing a lot of “mad hotep” tweets today from the usual suspects but instead of being focused on their negativity I see this is an opportunity to use that energy for something positive
This left/right divide hasn’t served the Black male community one bit so it’s time for us to look at how we can better channel our energies into productive solutions for Black men on the local, state & federal levels.
I was hard on Obama during his administration because I felt like he missed some monumental opportunities to make Black men feel loved & appreciated by the White House for once in our lives but he mostly chose to chastise us which lead to a highly disaffected vocal minority
But that’s over now and it’s time for us to put some of our grievances aside & work to be the example we want younger Black men to follow to hopeful create successful future generations of future Black men who will work for the betterment of our communities and country as a whole
I had been ranting for years about the danger that far right white supremacy was about to pose for this country so to see it come to fruition truly saddens me because historically speaking if we don’t get this under control you know what they’ll do next & we can’t let that happen
It’s imperative for us as Black men to stop listening & being fueled our false ego and for us to do the work on a spiritual level so we’re no longer triggered into oblivion by the things we don’t like; instead we’re driven by the things we can change for the better
We need to move past anger & vitriol towards gay people, Black feminists, immigrants, etc. all we’re doing is parroting far right talking points instead of looking to build the ideological bridges that will carry us forward into the 21st century
So I’m gonna do everything in my power to do my part to help us all move forward. To help plant seeds for the future generations so by 2050 or so the issues of the 2020s are a distant memory and the future of Black America is looking up for the foreseeable future
My focus is on the Black community as a whole but I’ll be best served working towards helping create the greatest 21st century Black man possible. We have the tech, tools and potentially the resources to create a transformative experience so now it’s time for us to do it.
