Thread on the Sean Robbins Cup - presented to the winners of the Offaly Senior Hurling Championship.

We've pics of the 1st captains of the victorious clubs.

First winners in 1960 were @Drumcullen_GAA, led by the legendary Paddy Molloy, who sadly passed away last year.
(1/10)
Brendan Loughnane was captain of @coolderrygaa in 1961, but they received a walk-over in the decider.
He got to lift the cup after the finals in 1962 & 1963 also.
Coolderry are Offaly's most successful hurling club - with 31 SHC titles (received the Robbins Cup 11 times)
Another Offaly hurling legend, @tullamoregaa's Andy Gallagher, captained his club to glory in 1964.
Tullamore didn't triumph again until 2009, when @shanedoole lifted the cup.
KK Kenny accepted the Sean Robbins Cup for @strynaghs in 1965, beginning a fantastic run of success for the Banagher-based club.
St Rynagh's have won the Sean Robbins Cup on 18 occasions and are, of course, the reigning champions.
Pat Spain (left) was the first @KinnittyGaa recipient of the Sean Robbins Cup in 1967. He actually won a medal with Drumcullen in 1960.
We just have a pic of Pat on the night of the final. Let us know if there's one of him accepting the cup please.
It wasn't until 1971 that @BirrCLG received the Sean Robbins Cup for the first time. Declan Hennessy was the captain. They've 12 titles now since the cup was first presented in 1960.
Joyous scenes as @SeirKieran_GAA finally win the Robbins Cup in 1988. Eugene Coughlan lifts the Cup after their victory over St Rynagh's. They also won in '95, '96 & '98.

Another historic breakthrough in 1989, with a first and only title for @LusmaghGAA. Star goalkeeper Jim Troy was a popular captain, and received the cup from County Board Chairman, Brendan Ward.
Another club that waited a long time to get their hands on the Sean Robbins Cup were @KK_GAA. After some near misses, Ciaran Slevin had the honour of being captain in 2012.
Ciaran joined a small number of players to lift the Cup twice in 2013.
Unfortunately, the 2020 Offaly Senior Hurling Final has yet to be played due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Either Kilcormac/Killoughey or St Rynagh's will bring home the famous cup. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.
