I'm a person with lived experience of youth homelessness, housing insecurity and poverty. There are aspects of that identity I'm still living today.
I spend a lot of time trying to reconcile those experiences, and I recognize that is an ongoing journey.

There were so many takeaways from the @R2HNetwork + @LivedLeadership webinar this afternoon. Here are just a few that resonated with me, and are vital to #peipoli and how we move forward with housing policy in #PEI.
1) Our focus needs to pivot to rent-geared-to-income housing. The term "affordable housing" is way too discretionary.
2) Identity is both deeply personal and deeply political.

3) The knowledge and expertise that people with lived experience have to offer must be compensated. As @CheyRatnam outlined "FAIR
WAGE
EQUITY!"

4) There are very real and very dangerous consequences to talking about lived experience.
I've spoken about this before: The delicate space(s) in small communities can prevent safe disclosure of lived experiences.

Folks with lived (ex)perience/pertise in #PEI should not have to be fearful of losing their home or losing their job for speaking truth to power.
These space(s) will shift and they will have to adapt. LivEx deserves equitable participation.
