Random thoughts:
1. I've never gotten invested in political figures because they all lie. It's always puzzled me why people do.
2. Democracy was never dead or dying
3. I am more convinced than ever that very few people understand the American system of government

4. I am always puzzled by people's logical inconsistency. After leaving the Trump era people are complaining about the institutional constraints facing the President. How do you not connect the dots there?

5. Every majority party should govern expecting to be the minority party again and every minority party should challenge the majority knowing they will be the majority some day. In other words, be careful you wish for

6. Journalism today is pure trash. Rather than blaming everyone and everything else, at some point a journalist should trying exercising a little introspection but I doubt they are capable of thinking that hard. They are a major part of the problem

7. People now validate information based upon who says it not whether it is true. The societal cult of personality is deeply problematic. We should be able to agree with people on issues we disagree with them elsewhere. I won't hold my breath 8/n
8. I find it odd that everyone talks about wanting to get things done then announce they will only work with certain people. Maybe if someone says I agree with you, accept their support and work on that issue. You get a lot less done that way 9/n
9. Crisis is the most overused word in US discourse. Stop threatening to light yourself on fire for every problem
10. The US has problems, our problems are almost all by any conceivable metric the definition of first world problems. Deep breath.
