genuinely, tommy's character has become an enigma on the smp. [thread]
i know this is mcrp, but tommy took the role of an underdog. he always loses, he's a kid, and he feigns that innocence for comedy and excuses. this nativity really evolved into something more though- it became what we know today, after EVERYTHING.
tommy had courage, enough to give the most powerful person on the server the middle finger on his first DAY. he was brash, hotheaded, rude and a total asshole but in a "my little brother refuses to put his pants on and is running around the house" sorta way.
no matter what, whenever he's knocked down, tommy gets back up. his resiliency was his most annoying yet most admirable trait. he never backed out of the fights he set up - he faced his consequences despite being prideful.
above all, tommy's character is about LOYALTY, and he fucking loved his brother. he loved wilbur and the leadership he put forth in L'manberg. o7. he loved tubbo, his best friend, who would go to the ends of the earth to follow him anywhere.
the reason tommy's character is so beloved is because we all see ourselves in him, some more than others. we all can share a love for our friends, hope, courage, a bit of brashness and rudeness. he is the hero, despite Everything he's gone through.
we can respect that resiliency that he shows - no matter what, after everything terrible that he's seen, he fights back. he pushes on. he refuses to give up. and personally, see that in myself too. i feel it- the refusal to just throw in the towel.
after today, if tommy dies..he won't walk the prime path again. he won't rebuild his house, won't sit at the bench with tubbo, won't bitch at dream on the smp anymore. he won't look at l'manberg again or steal from someone. he will be gone,likely w/o a ghost.
but, we can appreciate everything he's done. without tommy, there would be no story. there would be no discs, or l'manberg, or wilbur or tubbo or techno on the server. the dream smp would've thrived, but not NEARLY to this level.
as someone who has followed his story since the beginning, has poured countless hours into analysis and streams, it's tough to say goodbye. but i'm more than happy to, even if he does survive today. it's a new chapter. his story might come to a close.
i'm so excited to see what he does next, and the videos in the future. tommy is hilarious no matter where he goes, and i can say this with absolute confidence. thank you so much for reading. this post and smp means a lot to me, so thank you.
