Today I went out to get some inauguration day sound for @OurBodyPolitic. The city was nearly empty, shut down for square block after square block. The quiet of heavy protection; not the quiet of natural peace; nor the festivity of celebration...
I spoke with a Black Trump voter and entrepreneur; an information officer from the National Guard; a woman who worked in the Obama administration who was near tears about how strange the day felt; a Latino Trump voter from Kansas and more. I loved every minute.
I love talking to people. They bring three dimensions to politics, which isn't just driven by people in traditional seats of power. I hope over the next 4 years we pay attention to more people, whatever they have to say. Then we won't become disconnected from ourselves.
I'm hoping we do the best by ourselves, for ourselves, and for the world. Onward.
