1 Today is a real American tragedy. No doubt about it. Only the wicked or the naive aren’t grieved by it. The incoming administration is truly abominable.
This is a major setback for freedom loving Americans and especially Christians.

2 The presidential pardons show that there aren't any maverick moves on the way. It is the end of this administration.
And it’s good to grieve the end of an administration which attempted to root out the corruption and compromise rife in our government.
So grieve. I am.

3 But this brings me to my biggest problem with most of the YouTube/website wild claims floating around…
…they basically urged Christians to be passive and wait for something to happen. It was the whole "trust the plan" mentality.
I’m not a fan of just sitting around.

4 I got so many emails and messages with links to YouTube videos and websites with supposed insider information.
I’d always ask the same question:
“What actions are you personally taking based on this news?”
That question seem to irritate these folks.

5 This question was often interpreted as me doubting the validity of the claims in the news.
To be fair, I often did.
But that’s not what was behind the question.
I think most real news is of little value. It’s mostly just chatter, interesting facts, and useless information.

6 I was just trying to figure out why I should care and what I should do based on this info.
The answer was always some vague exhortation like “stand strong” which is really just a derivative of “trust the plan.”
Again, that’s not a call to action.
One guy even admitted this:

7 I like plans.
I have a five year plan for my life, vocation, and church.
They are built around goals and actions. I asked, “What’s the goal?” Then I reverse engineer how to achieve it through actions.
That’s a plan.
“Trust the plan” never struck me as much of a plan.

8 It certainly wasn’t a plan I could actively participate in outside of telling other people to “trust the plan.”
I want to move people to take actual steps. That's my mindset.

9 I was willing to listen to all these plans until it became clear they weren’t actionable. So disengaged.
Are there crazy wicked things happening behind the scenes at a national level?
Absolutely.
Can I directly do anything about it?
Probably not.
So what can I do?

10 What is a plan in which I can actually participate?
This the question I'm most interested in pursuing. That’s why I’m pressing the idea of “county before country” & I intend to share the steps I’m taking to apply that principle in my personal life.
Acta non verba, brethren.
