The BC Government and companies like Western Forest Products LeMare Lake Logging have dragged the bottom of the bucket in terms of forestry practices desecrating ancient village sites and logging wild salmon rivers with virtually no buffers. #BCpoli

Huge culturally and ecologically critical #OldGrowth cedars are being destroyed. (See yellow & black measuring tape top, right for scale)

#DouglasTreaty rights and legal precedents are being ignored by the province and WFP is logging across forests regularly used by #Kwakiutl for cultural & traditional purposes.

In the headwaters of the most critical #WildSalmon watersheds WFP & LeMare logging results in landslides where they’re destroying 1,000+ year old #YellowCedar forests. #OldGrowth

Yet roads keep being blasted into unlogged areas with some of the rarest and highest conservation value forests left of the coast in violation of #Kwakiutl #FirstNations rights, title and treaty. I don’t understand how this could possibly be legal .... it’s 2021. #BCpoli #CdnPoli
