Netflix now has 200m+ subscribers!

Given the pandemic and lockdown, it's no surprise that the streaming platform has seen such rapid growth.

There's been a lot of discussion recently around the 'Bridgerton effect', but popular culture impacting demand isn’t new. (thread)
Brands can benefit by being reactive to trends - through creating and optimising content that users might be searching for in response to certain TV shows.

In addition, the media and journalists want what we as marketers also want. Traffic, clicks, engagement, low bounce rate.
As a result our PR team has had a lot of success recently newsjacking around Bridgerton - providing journalists with 'get the look' content and products.

I've seen many other brands doing the same thing, but despite the noise we've still got cut through. How?
because consumer demand is not only THAT HIGH, but also because we have offered alternative angles, and found different trends within to tap into.

Don't be put off by noise, be encouraged by it - just ensure you have the right strategy in place to cut through.
AND if someone pips you to the post with the exact same idea, take @imbeingerica’s advice and wait for season 2 😉
