2/3: They were strongly in favour of well-enforced regs to keep standards high, & if anything they'd like to see tougher punishments for rule-breakers. They believe that under no circumstances should the UK compromise its food standards in order to secure trade deals.
3/3: Most were actively opposed to the idea of lowering standards as a way to reduce the cost of food & in the #COVID19 context of families struggling to feed themselves they felt it all the more important to have a strong regulatory floor to make sure cheap food is still safe.
