Really diving into trying to be a full-time content creator is scary and can be isolating, so I think I'll share my thoughts along the way. These are not pro-tips from someone who's made it, but rather lessons I'm learning the hard way as I go!
Going viral one time can absolutely help boost you as a content creator, but at the end of the day you're still going to have to capitalize on it and put in the work to profit/maintain it. Getting out there and being seen is just the beginning!
Other content creators should be your allies, not your competition. Putting yourself out there, fighting algorithms and chasing trends is a weird struggle that can put a unique strain on your mental health. Without the friends I've made who can relate, I'd be completely lost.
Set boundaries! People want to get to know you as a person and feel connected to you, and sometimes it's good to be honest and vulnerable, but it's also good to save some parts of your life for yourself. You don't owe people EVERYTHING.
It's okay if your content changes over time. Since you're putting so much of yourself into your work, it's natural that it'll grow as you do, and that's a good thing! Don't force yourself to repeat the same things that worked in the past.
There is more behind-the-scenes work than you think there is. Like SO MUCH MORE. Make time for it!!!
