Students were excellent on this topic today. So thoughtful and clear. Overall, excited about the possibilities of better healthcare, more attention to racial justice rather than giving white supremacy a platform, more attention to climate justice.....
... fewer open attacks on immigrants, reproductive rights, disabled people, queer people; no more 1776 commision and open attacks on CRT and ethnic studies. And at the same time students were sober about the fact that there’s a lot to be done...
... that movements change things not presidents, that white supremacy didn’t start in the last four years, that we need to examine how such a person could even become president, that we needed action not words, that US militarism was bipartisan....
and finally that representation mattered a ton but did not mean everything.
