Terrible fact. NHS workers, pre pandemic, were 2-5 times more likely to take their own lives than the general population and post first surge studies show that the understandable stresses of the pandemic have made things markedly worse.

I agree that there needs to be urgent planning now and structural investment now to support them and to map a pathway out of this extended and scarring period. Made many many times worse by some suffering Covid including long Covid and losing friends, colleagues and family.
To add insult to injury they have been working in the midst of a Tsunami of pain, suffering and loss whilst having to hear the appalling, insulting and pernicious bollox coming from so called “sceptics”.
Meanwhile this healthcare worker foundation run by @DrDomPimenta does provide counselling (& some may prefer it outwith the NHS) and also other practical support to healthcare workers.
