As we prepare for the inauguration of our first woman/WOC VP, allow me to share some #leadership tips & lessons.
1. You shouldn’t have to beg for the resources you need to do your job. The job will be hard enough w/o subpar tools to execute a vision.

2. Ensure that the people you work with have the basic skills to do their jobs. Demand that the org elevate its standards so every leader is equipped w/ skills for success.
3. Hold people accountable for processes that address discrimination and insubordination. If there is a policy, push the org to follow that policy.
4. If people don’t want to answer your questions, ask someone else. Keep asking questions until someone answers.

5. Document. Shady people want to throw people who ask questions & hold them accountable under the bus. Save your receipts so when the lies begin, you are ready.
6. Create a team of advisors who inform you of effective policies & practices. This should include an attorney.
