[THREAD]: Planning your social media calendar?

Here's 7 ideas for different types of content to post on your business's social media pages 👇
The categories and kinds of posts you do will differ depending on your brand and your goals, but common types of social media marketing posts include:
1: Product posts.

These should be used sparingly. Yes, your followers want to know about your products, but if your entire social media feed consists of one ad after another, followers will lose interest and scroll on by.
“Salesly” posts also don't typically generate a lot of engagement and if they make up the majority of your posts, algorithms will take note and show your content to less people.
2: Engagement posts.

These should make up the majority of your content. Your goal is not to sell - you’re aiming to inform or entertain, and build a relationship. Only once you’ve engaged someone meaningfully, can you successfully convert a follower into a customer.
Engagement posts will look different depending on who you’re aiming them at. If you’re in the sports apparel industry, you could talk about fitness, nutrition, workouts etc. If you own a plumbing business, you could post about home DIY tips and plumbing hacks.
3: Video.

Mix up static posts with short video clips of your products in action, happy customers, or your physical store – the list is endless. Keep footage short and digestible. 30 - 90 seconds is an optimal length.
4: Newsworthy / trending topics.

If a current event can be tied back to your product - post about it. But if you’re grasping at straws trying to find something relevant to say, rather skip this one.
5: Competitions.

Competitions typically generate a lot of engagement. It's important to make sure you're engaging the right audience. If your prize appeals to a very wide range of people, it often results in high engagement during the competition but little conversion after.
6: Link to blog.

If you have a blog, drive traffic via a brief recap or teaser, and update your bio with a link to the post in question.
7: Behind the scenes.

People love to see the faces behind a brand. Behind the scenes glimpses create a sense of trust and give authenticity to your business.
