Which startups serving remote teams will rock 2021?
👀🧑‍💻🏡⬇️
1) Recreating Physical spaces, online:

I wonder if @sococo and competitors may take off... Will we need online/physical spaces, maybe in VR?
2) Office as a Service: @FirstbaseHQ, http://fleex.com ...

Becoming the "OS for remote teams" is a big job.
My sense is that markets may be won locally (eg. "top logistic provider for US or EMEA") rather than globally. Logistics is tricky.
3) Easy sharing of info/async

@loom exploding and is going upmarket. Will they become the norm, will smaller players emerge?
@NotionHQ brings delight yet frustration is cropping up on speed
@usetwist may be gaining grounds w/ async first chats
4) Global asset/IT tagging

Remote device management is tough. Apple bought @FleetsmithStat and @JamfSoftware can help. I feel like there's more to do here...
5) The Great 2021 EOR war!

@HeyOyster + @remote + @deel + @Papaya_Global... all have tons of ambition/$ to address an ever-growing market.
6) Specialised services.

I love what @safetywing do... I'm expecting to see more pure-players in insurance/health/finance for remote teams...
7) Remote Hiring

Hey wow here comes @remotiveio helping you hire remotely! Our peers @weworkremotely and @RemoteOK do an excellent job too...
Specialist-as-a-Service eg @imwithdouble also have a bright future ahead
8) Remote Industry Specialist/analyst

Who will be the @DruRly of remote work? The space is starting to be big enough to command its own "industry publication/paid-substack" on industry news alone...
9) Chief Remote Officers / Head of Remote as a Service

There's some great consultancy agency to be created here. Unless you're GitLab, who's great, I feel this is more a consulting gig than Full time job
10) New needs from head of HR of hybrid teams:

"How do I ensure remote workers aren't socially disconnected from in-office workers?"
"How do I ensure RW have the same chances of being promoted/career dev as in-office workers?"

Many slackbots, @Officevibe, will jump in
11) Cohort based learning / Niche remote networking

@LambdaSchool + @beondeck validated that "remote cohort based learning/networking" has legs.

@techladyallison & @TaraReed_ both bootstrapped their businesses from $0 to $5M. More to come!
12) "Ultra-specialized remote head-hunters"

Heard this year:
"I need an APAC based CTO w/ fintech experience"
"I need 20 software dev based in GMT -2"

Sourcing tech roles was traditionally done by SF-based consultants, new entrants may come in.
13) Physical retreats returns.

Expect budget to return to physical, small scale company meet-ups. @outsiteco & Selina & others will resume their activity! More people will embrace nomading and "catch up on their travels"
You can follow @rdutel.
