1. Yesterday this tweet blew up as the daughter of a restaurant owner publicly called out @UberEats for not paying her dad £4K of his money for no reason whatsoever! It raised an issue we have been aware of some time #UberCheats https://twitter.com/shaaarms/status/1351493838628675585
2. @Ubereats response? They made their public account private to hide from everyone demanding money they were owed. A company that has BOOMED during the pandemic slamming the door in desperate peoples faces just for asking for what’s is rightfully theirs https://twitter.com/rosaluxemburgs/status/1351676525767233538?s=08
3. We can fully empathise with the frustration as we have heard of numerous couriers having pay withheld for NO REASON & are just met with automated responses. These couriers has risked their lives working through the pandemic & struggle to make ends meet https://twitter.com/ctmacdonald1/status/1334838939006414858?s=21
4. Having money withheld for no reason is a big issue, being fired for no reason is another. The @iwgb_clb and @uphd_iwgb has seen a spike in terminations during the pandemic with a large amount at @Uber & @ubereats. The ramifications are devastating for couriers and drivers!
5. How can we trust a company that can’t even pay people what they have earned to be following a fair process around termination? We know so many are mistakes but workers have had the door slammed in their faces as they beg for their jobs back https://twitter.com/iwgb_clb/status/1331210483781734400
