When you say "they don't understand the film making process" are you also saying that filmmakers and Actors from the dalit community lack knowledge and perspectives? The fact that news media give you the opportunity to justify your position, however refused to publish
an opinion piece is a caste privilege? It's not about the representation entirely, how many people from dalit community did you consult on the script, since you are telling our stories. Above all, the fact that you have made this entirely about yourself.
When you are called out, its not about taking criticism personally but how do you ensure you enrich your work and politics. Did you hire an inclusivity diversity practitioners because there are many of us you could bring on board.
Please tell our stories but don't be self righteous about it. Its 2021, if bollywood is not leveling up and doing the work its supposed to do then please don't tell our stories.
When you look at hollywood for validation, please also learn about diversity policies they have in place. The money they are putting to include african american actors, they have systems in place. How are you enriching this process through your work?
