During the 2008 campaign, it was amazing how the Black community welcomed me with open arms. As a volunteer for the Obama campaign. I made so many friends. A white man from rural PA, and a former Republican to boot.. and they still welcomed me. It was one of the greatest honors
I've had in all my life. One of my regrets from this campaign is that COVID ruined much of the fun of the summer campaign, and the fall GOTV efforts. I am happy for Joe Biden, and getting the chance to meet him 12 summers ago was a tremendous honor. I will now be able to tell my
children and grandchildren that I helped to elect not only the first Black President, but also the first female VP. It fills my heart with a sense of joy. A sense of patriotic duty. And a sense of pride. The content of a person's character matters. We've all lost so much these
past 4 years. The task ahead will be massive. And powerful forces will try to hold us down. We will not be deterred. Justice, peace, equality, empathy, and truth are the pillars of free democracy. Together, from all walks of life - every race, religion, nationality - we combined
our efforts and elected a President and a Vice President who we can be proud of once again. We preserved Barack Obama's legacy, and secured a safer and better future for our children. I want to extend a thank you to everyone who has followed me these past few years.
WE DID IT
