I’m not big into politics so don’t understand the inner workings, but who holds the government to account and how are they held accountable. In the last year, despite the obvious mistakes that have been made, I can’t see how anyone has been held accountable. 1/n
If we go back to this time last year, when there was no concerns, just keep washing hands, for the PM to then go and shake everyone’s hands, to the whole affair with Dominic Cummings, to the constant U-turns and revolving door of lockdowns, lessons aren’t being learned. 2/n
Yesterday, Brandon Lewis said we can’t make international comparisons - ridiculous considering they love making international comparisons on things that deserve credit like the vaccine rollout. Throughout the last year, know one has admitted to being wrong or make a mistake. No one has said sorry and no one has said I don’t know. And what is the real kick in the teeth is that they do it without reproach and it happens again and again. 4/n
I’m not asking for heads to roll, but I know that if I had led my school in a similar way to the government leading the country, I would be on very thin ice at the very most! 5/n
It saddens me that whilst many other professions have been dragged through the mud and thrown under the bus, with people either losing their jobs or flat out walks by away because of the lack of leadership from the very top, our politicians seem to be above it all.
