As have many of you, I've watched an ABNORMAL amount of #TV shows and #films in the past 10months of #quarantine/lockdown...here's a #thread of my observations;
International #films are stone cold leaving American films in the dust for another decade running.
Int'l #TVseries cast for talent. American TV series cast for looks.
Why do so many people leave their ringer ON during surveillance or when they're being chased, or while they're hiding?
How come writers+directors let characters enter their home without doing the deadbolt when they're in serious life threatening situations &/or have arch-enemies chasing them?
How come people in #TV & #films always say "RUN" whenever a psycho, a monster, an alien or a cookie-cutter-nutter is approaching, wouldn't self preservation kick in... why would anyone need to be verbally warned?
Haven't we as a society, gone as far as we need to with spacefillers? Additionally, isn't it time to retire, "seriously", "literally" and "really"?
No one wears lipstick or lip gloss WHILE they're sleeping. 2021 is the perfect year for American #TV shows, to retire the gimmick of having characters, wake up from a dead sleep to answer an urgent phone call--with flawlessly perfect make up 😂
How come #TVshows make two or more experts in a given field, TELL each other expert information they're meant to know in order to be good at their job?
This thing where two characters stand a cm a part, mad dogging each other for a ridiculous stretch of time THEN hug and laugh because hey, they're actually best friends, wasn't that gag properly burnt out by the end of 1986?
I ran track (long distance, relay, and 50yard dash) genuinely don't understand why so many #films & #TV shows routinely make women fall down when they're being chased (while running on FLAT ground😅)? How'd this trope start and why haven't we discontinued it? I mean, come on.
During pursuits, how come they always aim at the body of a vehicle instead of the tires?
All goofing aside, my main observation is, #film & #TV audiences are so savvy and will ride along with a well told story--that invites them to think and never dares to belittle their IQ with sophomoric expository and goofy gimmicks.
I'm more&more grateful to brave visionaries. XV
