Why Kenny Beats is almost in Hip hops elite:
Kenny beats has made a name for himself in the past few years with some standout projects like 777 with Key, Netflix & Deal with 03 Greedo and producing many tracks with Vince staples (FM!) and Freddie Gibbs (Freddie).
Then the gritty, old school esq Unlocked with denzel curry in 2020 was a huge break thru for Kenny. The sample heavy sound, the hard hitting beats on this joint really showed the world what he’s capable of when producing a whole body of work.
But before he’s reached the level he’s at now, He had to grind. From his early work with TDE which helped get his name out there, and South Dark with HoodRich Pablo Juan. he then moved to the amazing 777 with KEY!
777 is 34 mins of Kenny’s beats slapping you in face with a MacBook. The beats hit HARD, but are spaced out enough to let Key rap crazy on this record. After this, Kenny cemented his name as a heavy hitter in the hip hop community.
Not long after this his work with Gibbs was released. Producing 5/10 tracks on ‘Freddie’. The beats were on point too, Flipping the classic ‘boys-n-the-Hood’ beat on ‘Death Row’. and having credits on all but 2 songs on ‘FM!’ Later that year too showed how versatile he could be
2019 was a big year for Kenny. Producing the fast-paced, manic album that is Rico Nasty’s ‘Anger Management’, to the coke filled 80’s disco of ‘Netflix & deal’ for 03 Greedo.
Kenny was bringing heat to any track he worked on, and his online presence would only get bigger too.
Kenny became one of most prolific producers on the internet in 2019. From the officer Kenny memes to his amazing YouTube series, The Cave.
The Cave is like and album you get to watch be made. But a speed run. It’s also where the ‘Jesus is the one’ gem was made.
2020 was the year he really showed his versatility. From Unlocked, to the thrash metal EP he produced (if u like metal check it out) to the many singles with artists that range from slowthai, BENEE, deb never and ICECOLDBISHOP. He was doing it all. And doing it well
So, for all these reasons and more, I believe he is one amazing album away from being a very well respected producer in the hip hop community. And please let it be a Vince Staples album.
