A shortish thread

alright just to clear everything up, I really don't mind comic book films and shows. i really enjoy some of them. Spider-Man 2 like is one of my all time favorites. i just like to make fun of them because it's...... it's fun. https://twitter.com/Umer515K/status/1351734034771156993
however, i agree with Martin Scorsese's sentiments about marvel films to a great degree. i think the emergence of comic book films has had a massive impact on cinema. indie films are getting looked over. studios are looking for the next billion dollar franchise.
i think some comic book films have zero artistic value and are rather cheap in a sense that they never resonate with you. they are formulaic, boring and DULL and the sad part is that millions of people still go to watch them when they could be watching something better.
they could be watching something more impactful, more personal, more meticulously crafted, more passionately made. a film has the potential to change your life, to change the way you think. the medium of film outside of comic book films is so large but people rarely explore it.
now whenever i make fun of comic book movies I'll refer to this thread lol.
