I spent a year of my life dev'ing in Lightning ecosystem.

Knowing what I know now: https://twitter.com/DegenSpartan/status/1351756130465112064
The LN dev community lives in a reality-distortion bubble that ignores showstopper problems to user adoption and instead focuses on minor ones like apps that abstract channel maintenance away.
Locking up 1 of your BTC in a channel in order to send another of your BTC to one person will never be the futur of france.

A semi-custodial solution that doesn't lock user coins to channels but instead uses a centralized provider's coin is not either.
Lightning channels are simply capital inefficient and a rational investor will not waste their money in them.

That said, there's plenty of irrational BTC maxis who think Lightning is a cool toy and keep the network going via their altruism.
The problem is they will eventually move their liquidity to greener pastures like @thorchain_org.

Lightning channels are unsustainable when LPs have freedom of choice and act rationally.
Switching my focus in early 2020 from Lightning Network to DeFi was the best decision I made all year.

There was some pain of course due to sunken cost of my time but the money from yield farming certainly made it easier.
All things said there's some genuine Andre-tier giga-brains in the Lightning Network dev community so I have some difficulty completely writing it off.

IDK. Might be wrong. Might be right.
Shoutouts to @fiatjaf , @stephanlivera , @arcbtc , the LNURL mafia, and so many other who I got to interact with.

Was a lot of fun building with y'all.
