PSA for acquaintances and friends of artists: you really cannot dictate if the artist gifts you something or not, and if you really want something, offer a trade or a paid comm. As someone who gives gifts to the person they love more often but also extends them to friends bdays -
It's not okay to even poke fun at someone for not drawing you things etc. There are so many factors and it really just doesn't come down to liking you less than another person, it could just be pure inspiration or amount of freetime

Now, if something was promised, comm or gift -
and you were overlooked, by all means help them and remind them, perhaps they've other things on their plate! otherwise it's really not your place to beg or treat your artist friend differently because they haven't drawn you something.
before i forget: i wanna add that i personally draw what i feel to express myself to a significant other, so drawing often for someone i love dearly is an emotional gesture. it doesnt mean in this case that im "gifting", im just expressing myself - that may be true for others too
i have a hard time expressing myself and have very little experience with feeling this strongly over a large distance. it very much helps ease my feelings of awkwardness and loneliness and is equivalent to my affection when there is a lack of ability to give it in person
