You spent $40m to attract just 50 people into one of the most overcrowded white collar professions? I'm not sure if you've ever seen the income distribution chart for lawyers but this isn't enough over a career to make up for the ongoing decline on wages for 80% of lawyers.
Not only that, but it speaks to just how spiritually bankrupt their cause is. Their increasing reliance on material means of motivation require ever greater amounts of capital be thrown into their unproductive diversity dumpster fires.
They can't afford an infinite number of mercenaries to fight for and sinecures to reward their side. At some point you need a cause that resonates on a spiritual level in motivating people to act without material reward.
I know we spent all summer talking about "the new religion of woke" but it's not nearly as powerful a religious movement as we gave it credit for. If it was, the mass demonstrations (in most places) wouldn't have stopped the second the money spigot waa cut off.
I think they were trying to build a false spiritual side for their cause but ran into their own self inflicted problems of existential malaise and alienation. Most innately capable people have been so burned out by modernity that they only respond to significant material rewards
So here we are, a ragtag, often bickersome, loosely allied side with little material resources to deploy but an unimaginably huge reserve of asabiyyah versus a lockstep regime of elites with unlimited fiat resources but not a single deeply held conviction among them.
