. @fordnation is wrong when he says the federal CRSB is an acceptable substitute for provincial #PaidSickLeave & ignores expert advice from public health leaders across the province, with each repetition.
A short
on why CRSB ≠prov Paid Sick Leave: https://www.thestar.com/politics/provincial/2021/01/19/doug-ford-says-federal-covid-19-funding-means-ontario-doesnt-need-to-mandate-paid-sick-days.html
A short

1. It offers no job protection from an unscrupulous boss who fires you in the event you actually need & use paid sick leave. Provincially legislated #PaidSickLeave can offer this protection & once did.
2. At $500 per week, the CSRB is less than minimum wage, working full time hours. Not meaningful #PaidSickLeave.
3. You can not apply for less than 1 week. If you only need a few days while you or your child wait for a COVID test result...

4. CSRB payments are taking as long as 4 weeks to arrive. For those working pay-cheque to pay-cheque, trying to make rent, this is not a meaningful program & not #PaidSickLeave.
The feds can & should make significant changes to CSRB. BUT it is not (& can not be) equivalent to provincial #PaidSickLeave. @fordnation knows this b/c the experts are yelling it from the roof tops.
