Okay y’all, apparently we need to clear some shit up in this fandom (a thread)
#1- death threats are not okay. Death threats are never okay, will never be okay, ever. I don’t care how much you hate someone, it’s not okay.

#2- using a few people’s bad behavior to brand an entire sector of fandom “evil” is ridiculous. Don’t act like there’s no crazies/dangerous people on all sides of this shit. This is the “a bunch of school shooters like video games, so video games must cause school shootings”
Argument. It’s a shit argument and patently ridiculous so stop doing it.
#3- stop saying “this is just about a ship”. Children are being ripped from their parents arms and police are murdering black people, so saying “hey maybe a cop show in 2021 isn’t the move” isn’t about that

This is a real-life issue and people are allowed to be upset by what they’re seeing, and to talk about that in a way that isn’t death threats. Don’t reduce people’s rightful criticism as “they’re just mad about a ship.” That’s not it at all and it’s ridiculous to say it is.
#4- Calling out problematic behavior is NOT bullying. Neither is civil criticism of someone’s actions or words. It’s just not. If you’re not tagging the person or issuing death threats (see above) then you’re allowed to voice disagreement with people. It’s okay.
#5- crying “people are only criticizing my fav because of their ship” and then turning around and attacking someone else because you feel like they don’t adequately support YOUR ship is not the serve you think it is. It’s not cool. Ship and let ship, it’s really not that hard.
And finally #6- saying “you need to do more of what I want or else you’re evil” to a company that runs CHARITY campaigns is...well it’s a choice I guess. Maybe don’t? And just...be grateful they’re doing charity? I promise you 99% of us can love our favs and still have lives
Outside of that. I might not ship what you ship, but if it makes you happy and you’re not an asshole to everyone else I don’t give a fuck. Just let me do me, you do you, and let’s not reduce anyone to whatever ship they prefer when there are real-life issues here. Cool? Cool.
