The blue/green mlm flag was actually created 2 years before the new orange/pink lesbian flag, meaning it's literally not a recolor.

And you know what? They're both cute and I love them :) they're friends & they match. 💖

Flag history below!! Keep reading! :3
The butch flag in both forms, either the yellow/orange gradient or the blue/purple gradient were made to be more masculine renditions of the formerly most common lesbian flag design, the lipstick lesbian flag (2010) which was created by a transphobe/racist/biphobic lesbian
Which is why it's been replaced with the orange/pink color scheme, which was created in 2018. That said, the orange/pink color scheme is, visually speaking, a nod to the lipstick lesbian flag, but it's a non transphobic, anti-racist, butch-inclusive version! :D
The interesting thing is though, the lipstick lesbian flag design (2010) itself was literally just a straight up plagiarism of the cougar pride flag, created in 2008.
It's most likely that the mlm flag (2016) took inspiration from the same lipstick lesbian (2010) gradient design that the new lesbian flag took inspiration from 2 years later in 2018.
The moral of the story is: none of us are original, all flags are inspirations, recolors, and copies of other flags. Even IF the green/blue mlm flag (2016) was a recolor or inspired by the orange/pink lesbian flag (2018), why would that even slightly be an issue?
At the end of the day, it's LITERALLY just a flag. The new lesbian flag (2018) and the mlm flag (2016) were both inspired by and born of the same problematic racist transphobic pink/red lipstick lesbian flag (2010.) They're the same type of progressive reclamation of a design.
The mlm flag and the lesbian flag matching is cute, if you think otherwise then that's on you ig if you want to be an exclusionist/queer separatist THAT badly.

The new lesbian flag and the mlm flag are just good recolors of the lipstick lesbian flag, and that's okay. :)
There's certainly more to the history of all these flags, I just gave an overview for the sake of simplicity, but you can find some people expounding on some details in the replies!
