1/ Lots of misleading & false statements about Iran nuclear program by @ABlinken at his confirmation hearing so far. 1- he said the deal was "succeeding on its own terms" even though Israel revealed the Iran nuclear archive docs in 2018 that exposed massive cheating on the JCPOA

2/ Blinken repeated the Obama admin claim that the JCPOA has "the most intrusive inspections in history." False. The deal has weak inspections only of declared nuclear sites. And Iran also has not cooperated with IAEA inspections.

3/ Blinken said the withdrawal from the JCPOA reduced the break-out time to an Iranian nuclear bomb from over a year to a few months. Most experts believe the breakdown time was was under a year -- maybe six months -- before the US withdrew.

4/ Blinken said Iran's breakout time to a bomb was reduced because Iran started developing advanced centrifuges after the US withdrawal. False. The JCPOA allowed Iran to continue to develop advanced centrifuges while the agreement was in effect which reduced b/o time.

5/ Blinken claims the Biden admin will rejoin the JCPOA is Iran comes into compliance. The problem is, it never been in compliance. An Iran says it wont resume its JCPOA obligations unless the US rejoins the deal first. This would require the US dropping sanctions on Iran...

6/ Blinken didn't address this contradiction or whether Biden will drop US sanctions on Iran.

7/ Finally, Blinken said if Iran comes into compliance with the JCPOA, the US will work with our allies to negotiate a broader deal of longer duration. This is happy talk since Iran has never been in compliance and refuses to agree to renegotiate the JCPOA. One wonders what ...

8/ ... concessions Biden will offer Iran (aside from dropping US sanctions) to lure it into negotiations that will go nowhere. My hope is that Biden and @ABlinken will realize how dangerous Iran has become & not offer Obama admin-like appeasement for another fraudulent nuke deal.
