Over the course of six months, THREE to FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND KASHMIRI PANDITS were forced to leave their ancestral lands. They were tormented and woke up to blaring loudspeakers, telling them to either convert to Islam, leave, or die. And to leave their women behind.
Countless mothers and grandmothers and daughters and sisters were raped before they fled. An entire generation of Kashmiri Hindu children grew up in refugee camps in India or in exile.

No one recognized them.

It was the seventh such ethnic cleanings of Hindus from Kashmir.
Today, January 19, 2021, marks the 31st anniversary of that most recent ethnic cleansing. (It is chilling to even write that.)
If the progressive press is truly balanced and fair in their reporting, and consider Kashmir to be a particularly significant area of contention on the global stage - where is their full blown coverage of this anniversary to give their readers a fuller picture?
Where are the archive videos and photographs? Where is the reporting from the refugee camps? Where is the flurry of interviews with mothers who still bear the emotional scars?

Nothing in the mainstream press here in the United States. It’s like it never even happened.
The silence is noted.

And all the woke folk around the world, if you don’t question this silence, if you're just learning about this and STILL don't question it, then maybe you're not as fair minded and woke as you think. You’re okay with this.

Your silence is noted.
And if the narrative you do amplify is that Kashmir is Muslim-majority and you don’t recognize that it was engineered to be Muslim majority through the ethnic cleansing of Hindus, and your concern is then about the oppression of those Muslims by “Hindu nationalism”...
...then you have revealed much about your selective humanitarianism and you endorse (wittingly or not, it matters little) the ethnic cleansing of Hindus.

What will you do?
