One day I'm going to write a TED talk about the Clone Wars, Disney+, and the renewed accessibility of Star Wars lore, and when I do it'll be over for you hoes
It'll boil down to: The availability of Star Wars films and tv shoes on a massively popular streaming app is infinitely better than disseminating an expanded universe via books, comics, and video games
I've read a good number of Star Wars books and played a lot of the video games from before the EU was wiped. I am fine with them not being canon anymore, because they were so inaccessible that functionally no one I met had consumed the same media.
It's also a great way to expand the fandom in a way that invites more people than just cis white men to participate, because the previous media was less accessible to anyone outside that demographic, and we absolutely love a more diverse fanbase.
