yes, deku's extreme self-sacrificing nature is a flaw. it's FRAMED as a flaw. he can be reckless at times, often disregarding his own wellbeing for the sake of others. he will /destroy/ himself if it means protecting even just one person.
and also, you can acknowledge that sometimes he doesn't have a choice while still understanding that he NEEDS to take better care of himself or else he WILL d!e. they aren't mutually exclusive ideas yknow.
character flaws make for interestingly written characters and ITS OKAY TO POINT THOSE FLAWS OUT. it doesn't mean he's a bad hero or that everything that's happened to him is entirely his fault (again, sometimes he doesn't have a choice but to push himself to the limit)
but you're doing a disservice to his character as a whole when you disregard the fact that there's a PROBLEM with his lack of self-worth leading him to not care about what happens to him as long as it means getting done what needs to be done.
(and you're also doing a disservice to his AND bkg's characters when you place the blame for that lack of self-worth /entirely/ on bkg bullying him in the past)
