With @Hitman releasing tomorrow my hype levels are at all time high! Based on reviews the game is epic! The series holds a special place in my heart and Hitman: Codename 47 introduced me to non-linear games

At the same time I'm shocked the game won't have Russian #localization😱
The game is one of the most popular franchises in Russia. Every single game before it has been localized (including the previous two titles in the World of Assassination trilogy). Every single person I know have played it and loves it to pieces.
I'm particularly frustrated for my dad, who played previous games and won't be able to fully experience the epic conclusion of this trilogy due to lack of English skills. A very odd move by @IOInteractive
Although, I definitely understand where they're coming from! Going independent means that #localization costs are no longer covered by the big publisher and the game of that scale can easily cost a fortune (if you factor in localization + LQA).
At the same time I'm surprised to see Russian being cut since the game is so loved there. Is it no longer profitable to localize Hitman games into Russian?😱

I always assumed that it's an investment that pays for itself in no time (but seems like @IOInteractive thinks otherwise)
Really sad that so many Russian player won't get to experience the epic conclusion of this trilogy and the hard work of @IO_Nick and his team will be lost on them due to the language barrier.
I certainly hope that this experiment doesn't hurt @IOInteractive, a company that makes great games that many players around the world enjoy playing

That's why I still encourage everyone to buy it and who knows, perhaps they'll have enough money to add #localization on @Steam?😉
By the way, I just realized that Russian isn't the only language that has been affected.

Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) and Latin American Spanish are also gone. 😢

It will be interesting to see how that affects game sales in those regions.
I also couldn't help but wonder if @IOInteractive plans to involve their community to localize @Hitman into those languages?

The game is well loved, so I'm sure there will be some interest from the community.🤔

Let's just hope they'll learn from @SupergiantGames's mistakes!
