First off... What. Is. Gas? 😱
Gas fuels the Ethereum network, rewarding the miners who process transactions so your favorite DeFi projects can thrive.

The formula for gas: [computational cost]x[current gas price]

The higher the gas price, the higher priority miners will give to your transaction.
Think about all the work your favorite DeFi protocol is doing under the hood. Each one has its own unique logic and transactional cost to operate.

No wonder the gas cost for different operations and protocols vary so drastically:
DeFi Power Move Alert: On Uniswap, save up to 20% on gas costs by choosing to receive WETH when entering or exiting a liquidity pool.

- Use http://Gasnow.com  or @zapper_Fi’s Gas Meter to monitor gas prices
- When you provide liquidity, track historical gas spend with @APYVision.
- If your transaction goes through immediately you’re overpaying for gas 😛
- If you see an error that says "out of gas" before performing a transaction, it's most likely because some preconditions have not been met and the transaction will most likely fail.
- Consider lowering gas price when performing operations that are not time sensitive.
