This back and forth on this is dumb. Either she did or she didn't. She denies it. But the group she showed around will be on security tapes somewhere. If it's her family, then it gets cleared up real quick and people should be more careful. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/01/19/lauren-boebert-tour-capitol-riots/?outputType=amp
But if it was some kind of recon she was facilitating and she's lying, I'm 100 percent certain it will come out in the wash.
This is all under investigation, I'm positive of this. We can take a deep breath.

Part of my conditioning as a sailor is that I'm 100 percent OK waiting for an investigation because I generally have confidence that either:
A) It will be well done and be apparent that they did their due diligence
Or
B) It will be sloppy and I can pounce on it

As a journalist, I've only ever gotten ahead of an investigation on a couple of occasions and it was always when I had very good reason to. The risk that I miss something and accidentally mislead the public because I didn't have all the access an investigation does is high.
This was one of those occasions, but I felt it was urgent because there was a risk it could be spun in investigation post-production. https://www.defensenews.com/breaking-news/2017/09/07/us-navy-worked-around-its-own-standards-to-keep-ships-underway-sources/
But running this story put the Navy in the position where they had to explain why they were allowing those actions. I felt like that was important. What I'm saying is you have to proceed carefully and be humble about what you don't know.
