Headie One is undoubtedly the biggest drill artist in the UK, pioneering the sound and dropping banger after banger as a member of OFB
Headie started rapping under the alias Headz in the Star Gang group, and in 2014 dropped his first mixtape Headz or Tails, after 30 months in jail
After another stint in jail on a drug charge, Headie started focusing on music, releasing sticks and stones, and drillers x trappers with RV
Headie and RVs musical affiliation started in 2010 on a Tottenham Cypher, and to this day in 2021, they still are frequent collaborators
In january 2018, Headie performed at bedfordshire uni and got caught lacking by woodgreen ops, and posted it on socials
This led to arguably the most iconic drill tune oat, ‘Know better’ which describes one of the woodgreen ops getting shot. This was a pivotal moment in Headies career and turned what seemed to be an L into and genre defining moment
In 2018 Headie released his first solo album ‘The One’ with features from RV, Monkey, Dimzy and others. The One served as and impressive benchmark for future projects and showcased Headies impeccable flow and strong lyricism
Later 2018 saw Headie release ‘The One Two’ and in 2019 ‘Drillers and Trappers 2’ with RV, with the later charting at 21 in the charts
2019 came the release of ‘Music x Road’ with features from Skepta, Dave, Rv and more, and was headlined by tracks ‘Both’ and ‘18Hunna’. ‘Music x Road’ is easily one of the most impressive Drill albums released, a drill fan favourite and even hit 5 in the charts.
In 2020 Headie finally got his number 1 in the album ‘Edna’, named after his late mother. Headlined by the banger ‘Only you freestyle’ with Drake. Edna is his most critically acclaimed album to date and is considered one of, if not the best drill albums of all time
