Yesterday, a bird landed on my balcony, and a song reappeared in my head. The most important song ever written, which tells us everything we need to know about life. I followed its instructions, and now I have a new friend. 🥰
It's a pigeon I think. Since I started feeding it, it's reappeared two or three times already.

But the reason I'm writing this thread is something I noticed. Something that made me feel so so sad.

Watching him/her yesterday, I couldn't help but notice them quivering. So anxious
Head moving around constantly too; always watching, always on guard.

And what made me sad was: they do this because they're terrified of what humans might do. Think about that for a moment: these beautiful creatures have learned to be scared of us.
I do not and will never understand the sick sadists who shoot birds out of the sky for their own psychotic pleasure. And we call it 'game' - or 'sport'. You what? I'd shoot them and see how they like it.

The really nice thing was my new friend was more relaxed today. 🙂
To the point whereby they actually looked up at me to communicate "more seeds please". I was amazed at that - they normally look away.

But I just... how can we do this to animals? Who do we think we are? What is WRONG with us as a species?
Googling has revealed a lot of bird hunting in Uruguay. It makes me sick.

Think about when a child first discovers animals. They're drawn towards them by their gentleness and magic. And no child is EVER born bad.

So why do so many children turn into such complete monsters?
The song in the OP is timeless. If everyone did as the song says, this world would be completely transformed.
