sufi shah mir would bait Kota's pradanamantri Bhatta Bhikshana into visiting him by playing sick. The oblivious Bhatta taking pity would go to meet him. Seizing the opportunity shah mir would stab Bhatta to death & immediately declared war on Kota.

Kota would be given the choice to either convert to turushka cult or die. She chose the latter. The demography of Kashmir had already tilted in favor of enemy. Kota would put up a brave fight until the end. She'd stab herself to death & die rather submit herself to barbarian.

MK Kaw in his book Kashmir & its people sums up the last days of Hindu rule & arrival of turushka naraka in this para. He says the arrival of persian jehadi Hamadani in later years completely wrecked the demographics of Kashmir. One whose effects we are still suffering till today

So many lessons to take home from this thread. A kingdom that once had the might to provide assistance to fellow Hindu kingdoms under siege while still maintaining capability to defend itself from enemies. Such a powerful empire, destroyed from within
