That Derek Sloan earned 15% in leadership made me question CPC and my role in it. The racist implication a sr. civil servant was a spy because she has Chinese (Hong Kong, in fact, Mr. Subtle Knowledge of Foreign Affairs) heritage should have gotten him kicked out of caucus. /1
That he supports the child abuse that is conversion therapy should have gotten him kicked out of caucus. He should not have been a leadership candidate and thus should not have been here to endure a controversy linked to the despicable Paul Fromm. /2
That he plays silly bugger word games that homosexuality is a choice should have disqualified him. But kicking him out over a donation from a racist who disguised his identity? So many good reasons to kick him out. Not sure this is one. /3
Glad he’s gone. But ends justifying the means is easy, principled politics is hard.
