Quite interesting to see whats been happening to GB power prices in recent weeks/months.

Power demand increased steadily in the second half of 2020 and in December was only slightly below seasonally normal levels.
There were a few periods of very high prices in December, driven by low wind and market tightness - a pattern which has continued into January.
Although total BM volumes were relatively 'normal' in December, there were several periods of scarcity and very high prices - again this continued in January.
...All of which translated into a more profitable environment for peaking plant , with margins for a generic 1hr battery increasing ~50% on the previous month, and gas peaker increasing by 75%.
