Christians love to talk about the dangers of the world. They think it’s R rated movies and dancing, saying f*ck and being educated on healthy sexuality. But they fail to recognize that the world is the empire, wanting power at the expense of marginalizing people.

The kingdom of God belongs to the poor, to those in the margins, to the oppressed, and demonized, to the ones whose humanity is denied. Those in power are interested in empire and they will terrorize people in the name of God to ensure empire expands to the ends of the earth.

Christianity has been used as a weapon of empire for 1700 years. Still is. You can’t have the kingdom of God and continue to push the empire of the world, no matter how much you believe the kingdom of God is aligned with imperialistic efforts.
