The anti #Pandits pogroms & attacks started in 1989 with insurgency. On loud speakers open threats were being issued to #KashmiriPandits, the message was clear - "either leave the valley or die a painful death".

On 14 Sept 1989, Tika Lal Taploo was murdered by the JKLF in his home in Srinagar.

On 4 Nov 1989 Nilkanth Ganjoo, a judge of Srinagar High court who had sentenced Maqbul Bhat to death, was shot dead by Jihadists near the High Court in #Srinagar.

19th Jan 1990 was the unfortunate night that every #KashmiriPandit shudders to remember. Electricity was cut everywhere except in mosques which broadcast horrible threatening messages, asking for a purge of #KashmiriHindus. Hundreds of #KashmiriPandits were killed that night.
On 25 Jan 1990, 04 #IAF personnel, Squadron Leader Ravi Khanna, Corporal D.B. Singh, Corporal Uday Shankar & Airman Azad Ahmad were killed near Rawalpora bus stand by #terrorists, 10 other IAF personal were injured.

On 2 Feb 1990, Satish Tikoo, a young social-worker was murdered in Habba Kadal, Srinagar.

On 13 Feb 1990, Lassa Kaul, Station Director of Srinagar Doordarshan, was shot dead.

On 29 Apr1990, Sarwanand Kaul Premi, a veteran Kashmiri poet was gruesomely murdered.

By the end of year 1990 more then 3 Lakh #KashmiriPandits were force to leave everything behind & fled #Kashmir for their lives.

Today even after 30 years these unfortunate souls are still waiting to return to their rightful home #Kashmir.
