Despite some meaningful rejections and abstentions the #LPDF has voted to adopt the mechanism for appointing a new executive which was developed in Geneva last week.

The next step will be to appoint the new Presidency Council and Prime Minister

The mechanism approved appears to be somewhat reverse engineered to give us Aguileh Salah as President, and Fathi Bashagha as Prime Minister.

This is not guaranteed however, and it is Libya afterall so stay tuned for potential plot twists especially around PM

This development could also see stepped up disruptiveness from the likes of Serraj and Maitiq, who had plans for a new political double act that depended on the LPDF stalling

Expect it to take the form of heightened tensions over conflicts in Tripoli, Benghazi and the South-West
