911 is a very huge federal government project, and the people rely on this number for their safety. Whether someone is lost, kidnapped, confused, scared, sick or dying, just call 911, and the police and fire truck will race to your home.

It also has texting feature, for
people who are unable to speak on the phone. Once you dial 911, the operator will ask you about the emergency, while quickly tracing your location through the phone you dialed with. Once you provide the address, they will contact your local police emergency line.
The average response time after a 911 call is 5 minutes, but could be more, if you live in a remote area. But surely, they will get to you.

This project has employed thousands of people around the country, paid for by the government and very committed to serve the people.
There has never been a time where you are required to pay a fee for calling 911, or told that they don’t have fuel or anyone available to get to you. They will always come.

If you call and hang up without speaking, they will come to confirm that you are safe.
If you call and tell them it was a mistake, they will still show up to confirm that you are safe.

In some cases, the 911 operator will stay on the phone with you until help arrives.

911 is one of the best things that has ever happened to Americans.
We should be able to emulate everything good we see overseas and set up the same thing in Nigeria. I don’t see the reason why people should be racing to the police station in Nigeria for help when they could easily dial a number that would send help to them.
The Nigerian government needs to start taking care of citizens. They need to take security issues seriously and retrain all policemen. The police force is for dedicated individuals willing to serve the people. I know that there are so many moving parts that would make
this work, but we are totally capable of it. We should grown past the age of inconsistent electricity. There is no excuse why the Nigerian police shouldn’t be logging cases in the computer today. The police unit should always be ready.

No, 112 doesn’t operate like 911.
